Lava (Sally Hansen)

Summer to Fall duochrome yay!!

 Lava (Sally Hansen) is from their Lustre Shine line that was all about shimmery duochromes. It's a lovely glowing copper in some lights that shifts to shimmery pink. The duochrome shift was present both outside and inside with artificial light which was definitely a plus since some polishes that claim the name duochrome don't. My only complaint is that it was very sheer and may need more than the three coats I have in the pictures.

H is for Harvest Moon (China Glaze) - A Polish That Is From My Favorite Collection

Without a doubt, one of my favorite collections from last year was China Glaze's Hunger Games Capitol Colours Collection released around this time last year. It was the best of both worlds, really awesome books and really awesome nail polish.

The first time I saw the swatches I wanted them fiercely as everyone else did. One of my favorites from this favorite collection is the perfectly named Harvest Moon for District 9. It is a stunning copper foil with great application and full coverage at two coats. This is one of my go-tos for quick and easy manis that still look great.

H&M Nail Polish

Okay, I'm trying not to laugh while typing this all the way through. This is H&M polish I got at one of the stores clearance sales. It didn't seem like I needed to really individually swatch these because they weren't exactly top notch. In fact, the only color I felt had anything to offer was the creatively named Beige on my little finger. It is in fact a beige base that lights up a bit with gold shimmer; it's subtle but lovely. The others were weakly formulated and offered nothing special for me. It is however an okay starter set for fall if you don't have a stash that's pushing 100. Don't feel too bad about it though, I spent around $2 on the lot :) 

Stone Harvest (NOTD)

I got impatient and wanted to see what Stone Cold looked like.

Oh, and I bite my index fingernails, ignore the minute chip.

 I'd forgotten Stone Cold was a matte! How appropriate of a name is Stone Cold? The matte as is looked amazing with the shiny gloss of Harvest Moon.

I was absolutely too lazy to do all ten of my fingernails so I just did an accent on the ring finger and left it at that. I then messily added a topcoat because I remembered falling in love with Stone Cold like this and yes! This was a matte made to turn shiny. There is a certain warmth to how the shimmer in the dark grey glimmers.

Harvest Moon (China Glaze)

Hello gorgeous copper foil I didn't know I needed in my life... actually, I knew I needed it in my life, it's just too bad my budget at the time wouldn't allow. *eyes college loans* I got this at Sally's for around half-price; it seems they've tossed this collection in the bargain bins and are ready to ring in the new. This works out for me as I managed to get Stone Cold as well! I almost got Electrify and Agro but they hadn't called out to me like Riveting (which I got right when the collection came out), Harvest Moon, and Stone Cold had. I'll admit I'm tempted to go back and get Agro anyway, but we'll see how much temptation I can resist.

Anyway, Harvest Moon is a lovely smooth as butter foil. It takes some getting used to, to apply a foil after so many cremes and shimmers, but once that's down, it's easy application and quick drying coats. I used two coats and was satisfied with the coverage. If you haven't yet acquired some of the Hunger Games collection, it should have saturated the nail polish market enough that the price has gone way down so go seek and you shall probably find!
